Welcome to Switchback
·announcements
Every motorcycle navigation app I've ever used was built for cars and then sold to riders. Optimal-route algorithms hate curves. POI databases think "good parking" means a multi-story garage. Group ride coordination is a Snapchat group chat with vibes.
I'm building Switchback because the bar has been too low for too long.
What we're optimizing for
- Curves over miles. The scenic algorithm scores roads by corner density and elevation. The "best" route isn't the shortest; it's the most fun.
- Rider-grade POIs. Gas stations with large-vehicle parking. Restaurants where you can see your bike from the booth. Restrooms that don't require asking for a key. All verified by people who actually ride.
- Group rides that work. Real-time location sharing, planned waypoints, regroup signals. Nobody gets left at a gas station.
