Switchback Moto is operated by TwofoldTech LLC("Switchback," "we," "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Switchback collects only the information needed to run the service:

  • Email address, when you join our waitlist or create an account, so we can identify you and contact you about the product.
  • Profile information you enter — a handle (generated from your email at signup, editable after), and optionally a display name, short bio, the year you started riding, and a free-text location (a place name you type, not GPS).
  • Your garage — the motorcycles you choose to add, including make, model, year, color, specs you enter (odometer, power, weight), modifications, and a photo.
  • Activity and social connections — the riders you follow and who follow you (your social graph), badges you earn, roads you mark as ridden, POIs you favorite, and reviews and star ratings you post.
  • Photosyou upload (avatar, profile cover, bike photos). Note: image files can carry embedded metadata (EXIF), which may include the location and time a photo was taken. We do not currently strip this metadata, so remove it yourself before uploading if you'd prefer not to share it.
  • Marketing attribution— if you reach our waitlist through a campaign link, we store the link's UTM parameters with your signup so we know which efforts are working.
  • Anonymous usage analyticsvia Vercel Analytics & Speed Insights — page views and Core Web Vitals, with no personally identifying data. These run only if you accept analytics cookies (see our Cookie Policy).
  • Error reports via Sentry when something breaks. Excludes form values and request bodies; may include URL paths and browser metadata. A sample of sessions is collected for diagnostics.
  • Location data (mobile app, future) only while the app is in use for navigation. Stored locally on your device by default. Sharing during group rides is opt-in per ride.
  • Emergency contacts — if you use the SOS feature, the names and phone numbers you save for the people we should text on your behalf. See SMS and emergency alerts below.

What's public

Switchback is partly a social product, so some of what you add is visible to other riders and to anyone on the public web:

  • Your profile (handle, display name, bio, riding-since year, location text, avatar, and cover image), your garage, the badges you've earned, roads you've ridden, and your reviews.
  • Your followers and following lists, and who your ride buddies are.

Treat these fields as public — don't put anything in them you wouldn't want seen. Your email address and password are never public.

How we use it

  • To provide and improve the service
  • To send you product emails you've explicitly opted in to receive
  • To investigate and fix bugs and abuse
  • To comply with legal obligations

SMS and emergency alerts

Switchback includes an opt-inemergency SOS feature. If you add emergency contacts and enable "Auto-send SOS texts" in the app, then when you tap the in-app SOS button and confirm, we send a one-time text message to the phone numbers you saved containing your current location (a map link) so your contacts can help you.

  • We collect the phone numbers you enter for your emergency contacts solely to deliver these alerts. You choose and manage these contacts, and every send is initiated by you.
  • Texts are delivered through Twilio, our SMS provider, acting only on our instructions to send the messages you trigger.
  • We do not sell or share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for marketing, and we never send marketing texts — SOS messages are transactional and sent only when you trigger them.
  • Message frequency depends on your use (only when you send an SOS). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help, and you can turn the feature off any time in Settings ▸ Safety.

Who we share it with

We use the following service providers. Each has access to only what they need to do their job:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, file storage. EU/US hosted. Privacy policy.
  • Vercel — application hosting, analytics, edge functions. Privacy policy.
  • Resend — transactional email (waitlist confirmations, account verification). Privacy policy.
  • Twilio — SMS delivery for the emergency SOS feature (sends the texts you trigger to your saved contacts). Privacy policy.
  • Cloudflare — DNS and email routing for our contact addresses (e.g. mail you send to privacy@ is forwarded through Cloudflare). Privacy policy.
  • Sentry — error tracking. Privacy policy.
  • Anthropic— AI features (POI summaries, blog drafts). Submitted text is governed by Anthropic's privacy policy. Anthropic does not train models on our data.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
