What to know
- Closed in winter. Snow closes sections from Dec-March most years.
- Newcomb's Ranch (mile 38) is the traditional motorcyclist hangout — restaurant + parking with views.
- Watch for sand and gravel in the corners year-round; the road is exposed to washouts.
Best ridden early on weekend mornings — gets busy after 10am.
