The restaurant is independently owned and operated in the heart of Washington Depot village — a natural pause point on the Route 47/202 corridor through the Litchfield Hills. Locally sourced ingredients, strong coffee, and substantial sandwiches make it a practical mid-ride stop.

Bull's Bridge

Built in 1842, Bull's Bridge is one of only two remaining covered bridges in Connecticut open to vehicular traffic. The single-lane 109-foot lattice-truss span carries Bull's Bridge Road over the Housatonic River near the New York border, flanked by whitewater rapids and a small gorge. A riverside parking area at the southeast end provides access to falls, pools, and a stretch of the Appalachian Trail.

A 34-foot stone observation tower crowning 1,680-foot Haystack Mountain in Haystack Mountain State Park, Norfolk. Built in 1929 and donated to the state, the tower yields three-state views and a glimpse of Long Island Sound on clear days. A 1.3-mile paved access road off Route 272 leads to a small summit parking lot, making it reachable by any bike without hiking.
