Tomoka State Park — Ormond Scenic Loop Gate

Tomoka State Park at 2099 North Beach Street in Ormond Beach serves as the natural centerpiece of the 34-mile Ormond Scenic Loop and Trail, a National Scenic Byway frequently cited as the finest motorcycle ride in Florida's coastal lowlands. The park entrance sits at the convergence of the two loop roads — Walter Boardman Lane and Old Dixie Highway — beneath a tunnel of ancient live oaks draped in Spanish moss. The Tomoka Marsh Aquatic Preserve surrounds the park with 368 acres of tidal estuary visible from the road. Riders regularly stage here to start the loop in either direction.

The live-oak canopy that opens immediately past the gate is one of the most visually striking road corridors in Florida. The 34-mile loop is flat but the scenery — moss-hung oaks, salt marsh, and tidal creek crossings — is unusually dramatic for the coastal Southeast.
