GA-52 Amicalola to Fort Mountain
The 64-mile stretch of GA-52 from Dahlonega west to Chatsworth crosses the southern Blue Ridge via Amicalola Falls and Fort Mountain, climbing 1,500 feet to Fort Mountain State Park (2,850 ft) and then dropping sharply 2,100 feet over seven miles to the Conasauga River valley. The eastern half offers mellow sweepers through farmland with distant ridge views; the western section near Fort Mountain packs tight turn after tight turn. Amicalola Falls State Park marks the scenic midpoint.
