Pikes Peak State Park Overlook

A 500-foot limestone bluff in Clayton County overlooking the upper Mississippi River at its confluence with the Wisconsin River — one of the most expansive river views in the Midwest. The paved park road (32264 Pikes Peak Rd, McGregor, IA 52157) leads directly to the overlook parking area, with a short paved trail to the bluff edge. Free state park entry. Also features 11 miles of hiking trails, a waterfall, and over 60 documented Native American burial mounds. The park sits directly on the Great River Road Scenic Byway.
