Nada Tunnel

Nada Tunnel is a 900-foot-long single-lane tunnel bored through a sandstone ridge along Kentucky Route 77 in Powell County, carved by hand between 1910 and 1912 to haul timber out of the Red River Valley. At only 12 feet wide and 13 feet tall, riders thread through the darkness before emerging into the curves of Red River Gorge — it's the unofficial gateway to KY-715 and one of the most memorable moments on any eastern Kentucky ride. The tunnel is free and open year-round; approach on KY-77 from Pine Ridge and yield to oncoming traffic at the portal.

A genuine tunnel moment on a classic Appalachian back road — the tight bore forces you to slow down, and the view on the far side opens directly into the gorge's canyon walls. Pairs naturally with KY-715 along the Red River for a full loop.
