A 44-mile run on Route 116 from Heath south through Ashfield to South Deerfield, widely considered by local riders the best motorcycle road in Massachusetts. The road delivers a near-continuous series of well-cambered corners through dense forest and farmland with no meaningful straightaways — just rhythmic, linked twists dropping from the hilltown plateau toward the Connecticut River Valley. The Ashfield-to-South-Deerfield section in particular is benchmark hill-road riding in the Northeast. Route 8A forms the northern segment of the classic loop.
