NJ-29 Delaware River Scenic Byway

NJ Route 29 runs 34.76 miles from Hamilton Township (Mercer County) north to Frenchtown (Hunterdon County), with the upper two-thirds — north of Trenton's South Trenton Tunnel — designated a National Scenic Byway (2009). This northern section is a two-lane rural highway running directly alongside the Delaware River, heavily shaded by tree canopy, with the obsolete Delaware and Raritan Canal towpath between road and river. Passes through Lambertville and ends in Frenchtown. Minimal traffic, constant river views, easy pacing.
