The building tells you something before you even park: Sugar Nymphs operates out of a former theater on NM-75 in Peñasco, and the structure's character carries into the dining room, the porch, and the shaded patio out back. The owners arrived in 2000 and chose the theater building specifically because they wanted to be part of an active community — that decision shaped the kind of place it became. The menu leans on what local growers bring in, and it shifts accordingly. Lunch runs to sandwiches, salads, and burgers; weekend evenings add dinner plates and pizza. In-house baking is central to the operation — desserts are made on the premises and the bread is house-made as well.
The bistro runs a seasonal schedule, generally open from early May through early November, with lunch service Wednesday through Sunday and extended dinner hours on Fridays and Saturdays. Hours can change, so a quick call before riding up is worth the two minutes.
