Off US-58 in Patrick County, this overlook sits adjacent to Fred Clifton Park and carries its name from a colonial-era legend: a colonist's son and a Native American chief's daughter — called Morning Flower — fell in love, were threatened and shunned by both families, and according to the story leapt together from the cliff. The rock wall that runs alongside Route 58 at the pull-off is covered in names and messages left by visitors over the years, a quiet detail that makes the stop feel lived-in rather than curated.

The overlook itself is the largest of several in the area, with panoramic views of the Blue Ridge mountains and valley below.
