WI-131 Kickapoo Valley
Wisconsin Highway 131 follows the Kickapoo River — the most crooked river in North America — for roughly 33 miles between Tomah and Readstown in the Driftless Area of Vernon County. The road crosses the river approximately 12 times as the Kickapoo doubles back on itself through a tight limestone valley. Curves tighten progressively southward; north of Rockton the bends come closest together. A spur on County Road 33 east and County Road F loops through Wildcat Mountain State Park. Watch for Amish buggies and farm equipment on parallel rural roads.
