24-hour Marathon fuel stop at the junction of the Glenn Highway (Mile 189) and the Richardson Highway in Glennallen — the only real commercial crossroads for roughly 150 miles in any direction. Convenience store, ATM, RV parking, propane, and a restaurant. Essential fuel point for any route connecting Anchorage to Valdez, Fairbanks, or the Denali Highway via Paxson.
Glennallen sits at the junction of the Glenn Highway (Mile 189) and the Richardson Highway, and the Hub of Alaska is planted right at that crossroads. It runs around the clock, and in a region where the next fuel stop can be well over a hundred miles away in any direction, that matters more than almost anything else about the place.
Beyond fuel, the stop carries Marathon gas and diesel, propane, an ATM, and a convenience store stocked with groceries, snacks, ice, and coffee. Food trucks and an espresso drive-through have operated in the parking lot, and there is RV parking on site. It is also listed as a Copper River Valley visitor information point, so if you are sorting out which way to go — toward Valdez on the Richardson, back toward Anchorage on the Glenn, or north toward Paxson and the Denali Highway — this is a reasonable place to ask.
You will stop here. The Glenn–Richardson junction is the remote hub of Southcentral Alaska; top off the tank and grab food before the next long empty stretch in any direction.
