On the route

Queen Wilhelmina State Park Lodge is a recently renovated 40-room lodge perched atop Rich Mountain — Arkansas's second-highest peak — sitting directly on the Talimena Scenic Drive about 13 miles northwest of Mena. The lodge and its restaurant are open year-round.

For riders it is the summit stop of the Talimena Scenic Drive, with panoramic Ouachita Mountain views and a restaurant right on the ridge road. It is one of the rare places where you can both eat and sleep at the top of the route rather than driving off the mountain at day's end.

That makes it a natural overnight for a Talimena trip — ride the ridge in, stay on the summit, and ride out the next morning.
