Queen Wilhelmina State Park
Perched at 2,516 feet on Rich Mountain along the Talimena Scenic Drive northwest of Mena, Arkansas, Queen Wilhelmina State Park commands panoramic views of the Ouachita Mountains. The lodge — originally a late-1800s railroad resort named for the Queen of the Netherlands — offers 40 guest rooms and a restaurant, making it the only sit-down meal and lodging stop on the Arkansas section of the 54-mile Talimena National Scenic Byway. The mile-long Lover's Leap Trail accesses a forested ridgeline above the valley.
The single best stop on Arkansas's Talimena stretch — summit views at 2,500+ ft, the restored Queen Wilhelmina Lodge restaurant for a hot meal, and a photo backdrop that frames the Ouachita ridge system. Every Talimena itinerary routes through here.
