Burgess Junction Visitor Center
The crossroads hub of the Bighorn Mountains where US-14 and US-14A meet at over 8,000 ft, in Bighorn National Forest. The Forest Service visitor center offers exhibits on Bighorn wildlife and history, interpretive trails with sweeping mountain views, restrooms, and a small store. The adjacent Bear Lodge Resort provides dining and lodging. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Gooseberry Falls State Park
Gooseberry Falls State Park is located at 3206 Highway 61, Two Harbors, MN 55616, approximately 13 miles northeast of Two Harbors on MN-61. The park straddles the Gooseberry River as it descends over five distinct waterfalls before reaching Lake Superior, with the Upper and Lower Falls visible from a short loop trail under 0.5 miles. The Joseph N. Alexander Visitor Center (built 1996, native stone and timber) offers exhibits on North Shore geology and wildlife, clean flush restrooms, potable water, a gift shop, and a staffed information desk. A rest area directly attached to the park entrance off MN-61 makes it a no-stop-cost break point even without paying park admission.

Logan Pass Visitor Center
The visitor center at the 6,646-ft crest of Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park. The alpine section typically opens late June–early July after plowing; 2026 brings ticketed 3-hour parking at the pass Jul 1–Sep 7.

Sideling Hill Welcome Center
One of the most geologically dramatic rest stops in the eastern U.S.: I-68 slices through Sideling Hill, exposing an 850-vertical-foot syncline of 350-million-year-old Paleozoic rock in a single clean cut. The four-story exhibit center explains the geology, and a pedestrian bridge spans the highway for a rider's-eye view of the highway curving through the mountains. Open Thursday–Monday 8:30 am–4:30 pm; rest area and parking are 24/7. Located at mile marker 74, 6 miles west of Hancock.

Three Tepee Rest Area
A roadside picnic area on FM 170 (River Road / El Camino del Rio), approximately 30 miles west of Lajitas and 13 miles west of Redford, TX. The stop is named for three concrete tepee-shaped shade structures, each sheltering a picnic bench, that are visible from the highway. A short walk from the parking area reaches a Rio Grande river overlook with views across to the Mexican bank of the canyon. The area lies within Big Bend Ranch State Park. Riders on the FM 170 route between Study Butte and Presidio (~70 miles) use it as the primary shade and rest break on the most remote section of the ride.

Verlot Public Service Center
The Verlot Public Service Center sits at 33515 Mountain Loop Highway, eleven miles east of Granite Falls, at 971 feet elevation in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. The Civilian Conservation Corps built the handsome log-and-stone complex between 1933 and 1942; the buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Staff here dispense Northwest Forest Passes, recreation maps, weather conditions, hiking information, and trail-closure updates for the Mountain Loop Highway corridor. Restrooms are on site. For riders approaching from the west, it is the last reliable information stop before the pavement turns to gravel on the upper Mountain Loop.
