Riders enter via Lewes on Cape Henlopen Drive and park near the beach access; the overlook delivers panoramic water views and, in winter, access to the hiking spit itself. WWII fire-control towers are also visible on the way in.

The Lewes dock of the 85-minute, 17-mile Delaware Bay crossing to Cape May, NJ. The ferry actively courts motorcycle riders with dedicated boarding procedures, group rates, and seasonal moto-only sailings tied to Ocean City Bike Week and Rolling Thunder. Grain on the Rocks pub is inside the terminal building for pre- or post-ride eats with bay views.

Delaware Bayshore Byway (DE-9)

A roughly 50-mile National Scenic Byway following DE-9 from the New Castle and Delaware City area south to Dover and Bowers Beach, threading tidal marshland and passing Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge. It is flat bayshore cruising — Delaware has no mountain or canyon roads — best enjoyed for the birdlife and emptiness rather than corners.
