Longleaf Vista Recreation Area

Day-use picnic and overlook area on the Longleaf Trail Scenic Byway inside Kisatchie National Forest, the only national forest in Louisiana. Set on a high ridge in the Kisatchie Hills Wilderness, the site offers panoramic views of buttes, pine uplands, and rocky bluffs — terrain unlike anything else in flat Louisiana. A 1.5-mile interpretive loop departs from the large parking area.
