Red Bluff Pearl River Run (MS-587)
MS-587 runs approximately 30 miles north-south through Marion and Lawrence counties, beginning at US-98 near Foxworth and ending at MS-184 in Monticello. The road parallels and crosses the Pearl River through hilly, wooded terrain earning it the nickname 'The Secret Pearl River Run.' Near Morgantown it skirts Red Bluff — a 200-foot clay escarpment eroded by the Pearl River and locally called Mississippi's 'Little Grand Canyon' — the most dramatic geologic landform in the state. The highway is twisty with elevation change, blind curves, and no amenities; riding it early avoids weekend traffic.
