Castle Hill Lighthouse

A stubby 1890 granite lighthouse perched on the rocky Castle Hill headland where Narragansett Bay meets the Atlantic. Accessible via a short walk off Ocean Drive, it marks the western entrance to Newport Harbor and offers panoramic water views in three directions. The surrounding grounds of Castle Hill Inn are open to visitors on foot.

An 89-acre former estate with open grassy headlands, rocky shoreline, and sweeping views of Block Island Sound and passing sailboats. The classic turnaround on the 10-mile Ocean Drive loop — riders pull off on the wide shoulder to take in the view before heading back up the coast.

Open-air deck and Channel Lounge seating overlook the working waterfront and the Block Island Ferry channel. Menu driven by whatever comes off the boats: whole lobsters, native littlenecks, fried squid, fresh scallops.
