Oscar Wigington Scenic Byway (SC-413)

The Oscar Wigington Scenic Byway follows SC-107 and its spur SC-413 for 20 miles through Sumter National Forest in Oconee County, beginning where it intersects the Cherokee Foothills National Scenic Byway (SC-11). Fourteen miles of the route are officially designated a National Forest Scenic Byway by the USDA Forest Service. SC-413 branches off toward the Wigington Overlook, a viewpoint with a sweeping panorama of Lake Jocassee and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Along the corridor riders pass Oconee State Park, the Walhalla Fish Hatchery, Moody Spring, Chattooga River access points, and several roadside waterfalls including Spoonauger Falls and King Creek Falls. Fall rhododendron color and October hardwood foliage make this one of the most visually rewarding short byway routes in the Carolina mountains.
