Spearfish Canyon Lodge
A full-service lodge at 10619 Roughlock Falls Rd in the heart of Spearfish Canyon, adjacent to Roughlock Falls and Little Spearfish Creek. Open year-round with a restaurant, gift shop, and UTV/snowmobile/bicycle/slingshot rentals. Sits within the Black Hills National Forest, roughly midway along US-14A.
The lodge sits directly on US-14A — the Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway — inside Black Hills National Forest, with the canyon's limestone walls rising on either side. Roughlock Falls is a short walk from the entrance, and Little Spearfish Creek runs alongside the property. The location puts you at the midpoint of the byway, so you can ride either direction into the canyon's tighter sections without retracing the full route.
For riders staying the night, the lodge is open year-round and offers a paved, free parking lot. Inside, there's a 40-foot stone fireplace in the great room and the Latchstring Restaurant on-site for a proper sit-down meal after a day in the saddle. The on-site rental center covers UTVs, Polaris Slingshots, snowmobiles, fat-tire bikes, and snowshoes depending on the season — useful context if you're traveling with someone who wants alternatives to two wheels. The lodge is also pet-friendly, worth knowing if you're traveling with a dog.
The natural overnight anchor for riders doing the Spearfish Canyon Byway (US-14A). Roughlock Falls is a 5-minute walk from the lodge entrance, and the canyon's narrowest, most dramatic curves are directly outside the door. Gear-friendly parking lot and an on-site restaurant.
