Larb Hollow Overlook
USDA Forest Service overlook on Scenic Byway 12 in Fishlake National Forest, roughly 15 miles southeast of Torrey. Panoramic views sweep across the Waterpocket Fold in Capitol Reef National Park and the Henry Mountains. Paved pull-in with vault toilets and picnic tables. Open May–September.
Sitting on the mountainside of Boulder Mountain and ringed by pine trees, this Fishlake National Forest overlook pulls the eye across a wide arc of canyon country — the Waterpocket Fold threading through Capitol Reef National Park in the middle distance, the Henry Mountains stacked up on the horizon behind it. The scale of what you're looking at doesn't register all at once. Give it a few minutes.
The pull-in is a paved loop on the east side of UT-12, roughly 15 miles southeast of Torrey. There are vault toilets on site, but no potable water — carry your own. The Forest Service designates it for daylight use only. The road across Boulder Mountain is posted at reduced speeds given the high terrain and winding character, so traffic ahead of and behind you will be moving deliberately through here regardless. That pace suits the stop.
A natural sit-and-absorb stop on the Boulder Mountain plateau section of UT-12 — pine-scented air, 360-degree canyon country vistas, and a road that rarely exceeds 30 mph either side of the overlook.
