Payette River Scenic Byway (ID-55)

A 112-mile National Scenic Byway on Idaho Highway 55 from Eagle north to New Meadows, climbing from the high desert at 2,700 ft through river canyons and pine forests to McCall at 5,030 ft. The road follows the North Fork Payette River for 35 miles of canyon riding between Banks and Cascade, offering tight twisting curves, high-speed sweepers, and continuous whitewater views. Passes through Horseshoe Bend, Banks, Cascade, Donnelly, and McCall — all with services.
