Thousand Springs Scenic Byway (US-30)

A 67-mile section of US-30 through the Snake River Canyon between Bliss and Buhl in southern Idaho, dipping through the Hagerman Valley. The route passes dozens of springs erupting directly from basalt canyon walls — discharge from the Snake River Plain Aquifer, one of the world's largest groundwater systems. Stops include Thousand Springs State Park, Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument, and the commercial trout hatcheries that produce 70% of US farm-raised trout. Wide, smooth two-lane with river views throughout.
