Pheasants on the Prairie — Enchanted Highway

One of the signature sculptures along the 32-mile Enchanted Highway, situated roughly 24 miles south of I-94 on the road to Regent. The piece features a 40-foot rooster, a 35-foot hen, and three 15-foot chicks — all fabricated from steel by local artist Gary Greff. A parking area with a picnic shelter marks the pull-off on the east side of the highway.

North Dakota's largest annual motorcycle event, held every Father's Day weekend in the small northeastern ND town of Cavalier. The 2026 edition is the 30th annual. What began as a modest Thursday-evening gathering has grown into a weekend-long event drawing riders from across the US and Canada, featuring fun runs, biker games, burnouts, live music, food and retail vendors, and a raffle for a new Harley-Davidson. Action centers on Main Street.

A no-frills diner on Medora's main drag that has been feeding travelers and park visitors since the Badlands tourism era took off. Open for breakfast and lunch only (7 am–2 pm, Mon–Sat), cash-friendly, with straight-ahead American diner food. The northeast-corner location makes it an easy first or last stop when riding the South Unit scenic loop.

The northern anchor of the Enchanted Highway, accessible from I-94 Exit 72 near Gladstone. Standing 110 feet tall and 154 feet wide, this scrap-metal sculpture of Canadian geese soaring against a prairie sunburst holds a Guinness World Record as the world's largest scrap-metal sculpture. Artist Gary Greff built all sculptures along the 32-mile corridor to revitalize the dying town of Regent. A short dirt road off the exit leads to the viewing area.
