Standing Rock National Native American Scenic Byway

An officially designated National Scenic Byway running approximately 86 miles along ND-1806 within the Standing Rock Sioux Indian Reservation in south-central North Dakota. The byway begins at the Cannonball River and follows the southwest bank of the Missouri River south toward the South Dakota border, tracing the same routes traveled by the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 1806. Key stops include Sitting Bull's burial site, the Standing Rock Monument in Fort Yates, Prairie Knights Casino and Marina, and the Sitting Bull Visitor Center. Eagle nests and buffalo herds are frequently visible from the road. The corridor is one of only two National Scenic Byways in North Dakota.
