RI-102 — Western Rhode Island Backroads
A rural north-south beltway running roughly 50 miles from Wickford (North Kingstown) to Slatersville (North Smithfield), threading through the least-developed interior of the state. The road passes through Foster, Scituate, and Glocester — skirting the Scituate Reservoir, Flat River Reservoir, Westconnaug Reservoir, Audubon's George Parker Woodland Wildlife Refuge, and Ponaganset Falls. The segment through Foster and Scituate (Chopmist Hill Road) is consistently highlighted for twisting wooded stretches and a near-total absence of commercial development. Frequently ridden as part of a western Rhode Island loop combined with US-44 through Glocester.
